Donovan Johnson was selected among 29 journalists for a nationwide reporting initiative focusing on the state of American Democracy. Johnson worked as a visual journalist traveling across the country to produce a photo essay as well as shooting and editing the official trailer for the project.

‘The most horrible day’: Those at the Capitol on Jan. 6 carry scars, shame, satisfaction

Donovan Johnson traveled to Idaho, Wisconsin, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia to complete a photo essay analyzing the lives of those who took part in the January 6 insurrection.
